That sounds backwards, I know. But hear me out. When I worked for larger outfits early in my career, I saw how easy it was to take shortcuts β charge more than a job was worth, send someone who wasn’t properly qualified, or just not bother turning up on time because the customer had already paid a deposit. It bothered me every time.
So in 2014, I set Murphy Plumbing and Heating up on my own. The idea was simple: do the job right, charge a fair price, and actually be there when you say you will. No fancy promises β just solid, reliable work from a qualified plumber who gives a damn about his reputation.
Ten years on, we’ve grown a bit but the approach hasn’t changed. I’m still RGI registered (reg. [RGI_NUMBER]), still fully insured, and still personally involved in every job. If there’s a problem with any work we do, you ring me directly and I sort it. That’s not a marketing line β it’s just how I run things.

It didn’t happen overnight. Here’s how Murphy Plumbing and Heating got to where it is today.
Started trading as a sole trader, covering Naas and the surrounding Kildare area with a single van and a lot of determination.
Completed the registration process with the Register of Gas Installers of Ireland. All gas work now fully certified and legally compliant.
Word of mouth grew the business into Dublin 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8, and DΓΊn Laoghaire. Added SEAI registration for the Better Energy Home Scheme.
Passed 100 Google reviews with a 4.9-star average. Introduced planned maintenance contracts for commercial clients and landlords.
Over 150 Google reviews. 10 years of trading. Same values as day one β show up, do the job right, charge a fair price.
These aren’t company values on a poster in a meeting room. They’re the things that have kept customers coming back for 10 years.
We quote before we start. No upselling, no vague estimates that balloon into something else. If a job turns out to be simpler than expected, we charge less β not more.
It sounds basic but apparently it’s not common. If we say Tuesday at 9am, we’re there at 9am. If anything changes, we ring you β not the other way around.
Your home isn’t a building site. We put down dust sheets, clean up when we’re done and make sure everything is left the way we found it (minus the problem we fixed).
All gas work is carried out by an RGI registered installer. We don’t cut corners on qualifications or safety β ever. Ask to see our certs before we start if you want to.
You’ll always get through to someone. Not an answering machine, not a callback request form β a person. If it’s not Murphy himself, it’s someone who can actually help.
